About the PRESENTER: Tina Di Clemente is a retired science teacher from the Halton Catholic District School Board.

She has been following climate change for nearly 30 years and has educated many students about the perils of climate change throughout her teaching career.

About the TOPIC: Scientists have warned that if we do not address the climate crisis in the next few years, the life support systems of our planet will breakdown and human civilization itself will be threatened.

The City of Hamilton has joined many cities across Canada by declaring a climate emergency. Over its 4 billion year history, the earth has undergone 5 mass extinctions (4 of which were caused by global warming). We are currently in the midst of the earth’s 6th mass extinction and for the first time a single species is responsible ... humans!
