As part of an ongoing series of lunch seminars, West Flamboro Presbyterian Church invites you to join us on Thursday October 19, 2017 for a luncheon and a personal experience presentation on "GET HEALTHY GUT HEALTHY"

A conversation to provide education to older adults on:

     * the experiences of two women who are passionate about home-grown vegetables, eating "in season" and preparing food to optimize nutrition.

     * Leave with a couple of delicious recipes and new insights into enhancing and protecting your gut health through the use of fermented foods.

ABRUPT CLIMATE CHANGE PRESENTATION

NOTE: There is a possibility of a followup workshop on Saturday November 4 if there is sufficient interest.


Conservation Biologist Dr. Guy McPherson is a leading expert on the existential risks of abrupt climate change (as seen with Bill Nye on National Geographic Explorer).

Dr. McPherson will be speaking about our collective response to Earth’s newest phase of accelerated warming at a series of events throughout in the Golden Horseshoe in November 2017.

Dr. McPherson is an award-winning Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources & Ecology, and Evolutionary Biology at University of Arizona. He is internationally known for his synthesis of interdisciplinary research on abrupt climate change, as fueled by irreversible, self-reinforcing feedback loops in the climate system.

Dr. McPherson has written a dozen books on the environment, including college textbooks, a children’s book, and his joint effort with psychologist Carolyn Baker, “Extinction Dialogs: How to live with death in mind.”

Come and enjoy this private showing of the entire castle decorated in the Victorian Christmas era. You will be taken back in time when life was simpler and these unique decorations meant so much to that generation.
