Most of us ask why there are so many different denominations today? This talk will be an historical perspective on how we got to this place in Western history. And where is the church going in the future?

Ian McPhee brings a wealth of experience to any event he speaks at. He taught history for two years at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, following the completion of his doctorate in history at Cambridge University.

Ian also has many years experience in the business world on Bay Street and in the publishing industry.

Originally ordained in the Baptist Convention of Ontario in 1974, Ian was accepted into the Presbyterian Church in 1992 after completing the denomination requirements of one year at Knox College in Toronto and one year in pastoral counselling. He served at Erskine Presbyterian Church in Hamilton for 24 years and served as the Interim Moderator at West Flamboro in 1998.

Ian was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada at the age of 18. He and his wife, Gail, have recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and together, they have 6 children and 13 grandchildren. Ian enjoys travelling, golfing, biking, and reading a good murder mystery.

LUNCH WILL BE SERVED - A "freewill" offering to help cover costs would be gratefully appreciated.

NOTE - RSVP by Monday February 18: text or call Craig 905 541 9983 or email: craigbishop67@gmail.com

DATE: Sunday May 26, 2019

TIME: 6:30 P.M.

LOCATION: West Flamboro Presbyterian Church Sanctuary - 262 Middletown Road at Highway #8

ADMISSION: A FREE WILL OFFERING will be gratefully received during the singspiration.

The interdenominational Tri-City Gospel Chorus's 100 members span southern Ontario - from Huntsville and Barrie in the north, Peterborough and Uxbridge in the east to Elora and Guelph in the west , Niagara-on-the-Lake and Welland in the south.

These men have been presenting their "Singspiration!" services in churches as widely spread as the membership, ever since the chorus was founded in 1995 - and they are fully committed, right now, for services into 2018!

Most Tri-City music is sung without accompaniment in the barbershop mode, but recently they have added a few gospel songs using background music while still singing four-part harmony. Praise, humour, fellowship and worshipping Christ as Saviour continue to be the building blocks on which the chorus was founded. Tri-City thank God for giving them the opportunity to worship Him in an exciting and harmonious way.

Come and enjoy a relaxing evening of contemporary and inspirational music and vocals along with a generous sprinkling of good old-fashioned humour.

This evening is guaranteed to be "sit back, relax and fill your soul to overflowing" with this presentation.

There will be a Reception in the Fellowship Hall following the concert.

Click HERE to view the Tri-City website. The website gives many details about the formation and history of the Chorus as well as a listing of where they have performed and will perform. Have a look!
